Cardiff and Vale UHB – Sustainable Quality Improvement Forum

“In healthcare, we all have two jobs: to do your work and to improve it.”

This is a commonly-held mantra in Quality Improvement but with the ever-growing climate crisis and planetary health becoming increasingly important, what can healthcare professionals do to reduce the environmental impact of their practice?

The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare believe that by integrating sustainability into quality improvement, social and environmental challenges in healthcare can be addressed as a core part of professional practice, using a recognised method for change.

We know that a wide range of staff are engaged in some form of quality improvement exercise and that everyone wants to make things better for our patients and our planet. Sustainable Quality Improvement (SusQI) is a framework which you could use to do just that!

To introduce the SusQI to Cardiff and vale UHB, Dr Stacey Harris, Clinical Fellow for Sustainability, is hosting a series of virtual SusQI forums facilitated by the Health Board’s Improvement and Implementation team.

These sessions will be an exciting opportunity to learn about the quality improvement tools and skills which could facilitate sustainable practice in your area of work and to join a growing movement of healthcare professionals who are passionate about planetary health.

Open to all Cardiff and Vale UHB staff, these sessions will take place on Microsoft Teams at the below times:
