We are delighted to announce that the delivery of the NHS surge hospital Ysbyty Calon Y Ddraig, Dragon’s Heart Hospital has been shortlisted for the Partnership of the Year Award at this year’s HSJ Awards.

Being shortlisted for a this award is a great celebration of the combined efforts that went into delivering Dragon’s Heart Hospital and ensuring that the best examples of partnership working are nationally recognised, learned from and scaled up wherever possible.

The Dragon’s Heart Hospital won the HSJ Partnership Award for Regional COVID-19 Response in June 2021 and was one of over a thousand submissions for the overall HSJ Awards, which are being held in November.

Jonathon Gray, Director of Innovation and Improvement at Cardiff and Vale UHB and SRO for the Dragon’s Heart Hospital said, “I am so proud of what this incredible team of people from all walks of life and all different sectors achieved together under the most immense time pressure and the looming threat of COVID-19 last spring.

“The learning taken from the partnerships that formed the Dragon’s Heart Hospital team gave way to The Dragon’s Heart Institute, which has worked diligently since its inception to foster such relationships across organisational boundaries and sectors. It is something to aspire towards in our everyday practice going forward.”
