Your time is precious, don’t waste it!
Tired of unproductive meetings eating into your precious time? You’re not alone.
We all want to work smarter, and reclaim those lost hours for deeper focus, creative flow, and meaningful connections.
Make Meetings Matter is a campaign developed by alumni of Climb and the Spread & Scale Academy in honour of Catrin Macey, who was deeply passionate about recognising the value of time.
Your time is precious. Choose to invest it wisely by making meetings matter. Let’s reclaim our time for what truly matters – creativity, productivity, and meaningful connections.
Help us save 300,000 hours of NHS Wales colleagues’ time!
Why is this important?
- Meetings take precious time: Every minute spent in an unproductive meeting steals your chance to do what matters most.
- They disrupt your flow: Constant meetings interrupt your focus and hinder your ability to complete demanding tasks.
- They lead to stress and burnout: Overloaded schedules leave you feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.
- They often lack purpose: Unclear goals and agendas make it difficult to achieve anything concrete.
- Lunch and breaktimes should be protected: many staff use their dedicated lunch and break times to squeeze in meetings, increasing the risk of burnout even further.
Make Meetings Matter is a movement dedicated to transforming meetings from time-wasters to powerful tools for collaboration and progress.

In honour of Catrin Macey
Catrin Macey was a wonderful nurse, leader, and the inspiration behind this campaign.
Catrin was part of our first Climb cohort and was a passionate champion of the value of her colleague’s time.
Tragically, she passed away in January 2024.
Our aim with Make Meetings Matter is to save 300,000 hours of NHS Wales staff time from unproductive meetings, which is roughly the amount of time of Catrin’s life.
